Hello! Hope everyone is doing well. I am doing fantastic. I just graduated college, which is super exciting. I've decided to start blogging again because I just can't help myself. I can't guarantee it will be everyday like before but at least one a week, hopefully.

So far in my observations, I've seen a lot of really beautiful mesh clothing. I don't think mesh will ever replace everything else for me but it's always great to have more options. Mesh allows a level of detail that you cannot get with regular clothing layers. And of course it allows the clothing to move with your avatar. I can't wait to try more. I have also been determined to learn how to make mesh. It's been incredibly challenging so far but I haven't given up yet.

I am really in love with these cashmere sweaters I made. I love the texture of them and you can never have to many cute sweaters :)

Hogwarts: Your Story

I'm not really into role playing but I love watching people get so excited about something. There is a whole sim dedicated to Hogwarts role playing.

Starting today, the sim will be open for preview for this week. They are still in the process of building. They are also using the courtyard this week for designers to sell Hogwarts related clothing and accessories. If you're interested in joining the fun, you have to fill out an application. My advice is for you to join the "Hogwarts: Your Story" group inworld and check the notices for information.

And even if you're not interested, it might be fun to visit and see what everyone's been up to!

Zaara released more denim! all of her textures are hand-drawn and the butt is as equally cute as the front, which is important to me. lol.

The sculpt and texture of this elephant bag are so perfect. I am envious how talented some people are.

I've seen this hair all over flickr ever since the hair fair, which I have to say... I never made it to (oh well) It was one of my favorites just because I haven't seen a messy hairstyle like it anywhere else.

Golden Girls

Me and my bf Poppy Panache... wearing our beautifully sculpted clothing.

I remembered seeing some really cute shorts on flickr yesterday, I searched for them because I had the urge to go shopping. They turned out to be from Lelutka... of course. I was scared to go in there, I could feel a force ready to suck the linden from my virtual pockets. But I only bought the shorts, whew! And I bought a gift for my friend (the jump suit) who needed some cheering up. Thank goodness she loved it! What's not to love, you can never go wrong with a gift from lelutka :)

So we decided to take some pics... and I needed a top to wear. This new top from BOOM was my very first choice. It has really amazing quality... the sculpt and the texture are perfect!

I went shopping today in RL and I bought a skirt that reminded me of this one from mon tissu. I'm wearing a white cardigan with it in both worlds... but I don't really own anything pink in RL so I'm not sure why I decided to wear it here... hmm.

Sittin' at the Dock of the Bay

I know it's been a while, but I've been busy and up to no good... :P I haven't been shopping in eons, I am trying to save money for a RL vacation. I'm even back to my 50 prim limit skybox! I got my decorating fix for now, maybe in a couple of months I'll give it another go but even after I decorate, I never spend time in the space.

Anyways, I've decided to wear a few of my favorite things for this shot. One of my all time favorite shirts is from Coco, I love the big bow... it really goes good with almost any thing layered over it. I chose to wear it with a vest from armidi because it's by far one of best quality vest I own and I love it! You can't really see the pants but they are big and baggy and just look like they would feel so comfy. I took a few full body shots in this setting but after I was all done I realized my skin wasn't rezzed fully... so since I have to go to work in RL in an hour I didn't retake them. I hope you don't mind :)

I bought a new skin! Lavender from the body co. I'm kind of surprised that all I got for 1500L was a skin and shape, and I don't wear other shapes so... I got a skin. I wish there would have been more things included for that price. But I do really like the skin. The lips are so pretty and it's hard for me to find a skin that looks good in SL shadows, on my shape.

Also, I just released a new sports bra at *BOOM* . There have been a few times I've searched for a cute one and I haven't found any, so I made some. :)

I had so many problems taking pictures for this. I realized that when I am indoors I get a huge line through my snapshot, or shadows don't show up at all. This place I visited is in a large dome and I didn't realize that until I was about to leave. I got one good picture out of it at least.

Another adventure in a wonderful exotic place. In searching for a place to visit I looked for colors that would contrast well with my outfit. I liked the aqua color of the water next to my orange tights, which I picked to match the purple colors of this beautiful sculpted skirt by Maylee Oh for Culture Shock. I chose Lelutka's wild hairstyle to mimic the palm trees and it also captures the windy feeling you get in this gorgeous tropical setting.

I don't know why I don't go out and explore more often. There are so many beautiful places to see in Second Life. I think I will venture out more often because I really like the way these shots turned out, although it does take a lot more time to get things perfect but it was fun. This sim has a really cute small town country vibe to it, check it out.

There's new stuff at Mon Tissu ! and of course it exceeds my expectations of excellence. The patterns and colors are inspiring to say the least.

Such a cute name for a cardigan don't you think?

on a side note I have some venting to do...
You know what really bugs me? People that think they are better then everyone else. What bothers me even more then that are the people that kiss ass. Some people put a great amount of effort into making things... and by doing so, they take a risk that other people may not like it. But I applaud their effort and encourage them to improve. Everyone starts out at the bottom... it takes time and dedication to be really great at something. If I could show you the first piece of furniture I ever made, or the first shirt, or even the first snapshots I took... they would not meet any kind of standards. But if someone would have laughed at me or pretty much told me they sucked... or worse said it behind my back, I don't think I would have wanted to try again. I don't understand why it's so easy for some people to be hateful and mean. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything! There is a polite way to critique someones work.

This top is another one of my favorite finds in The Seasons Hunt from Tres Blah . I've been waiting patiently for the perfect thing to wear with my new skirt from Fishy Strawberry . I got it in white but I think I'll go back and get some other colors, I love the way it fits and I can see it being a very versatile piece in my wardrobe. Speaking of versatility, I know I've worn this denim jacket from COCO multiple times and I can't even remember when I bought it but I still love it like I got it yesterday :)

So, as I'm sure everyone has heard by now... and If you haven't, allow me to educate you! The Season Hunt has started! It will run from April 16th - 30th, so there is still plenty of time... no need to hyperventilate! I haven't been able to visit every store yet but I've been pleasantly surprised with the gifts. This bag from Tokidoki is probably my favorite thus far. It's adorable! The item to hunt for is a bumble bee, so grab your nets and let the hunting commence!

I cannot forget to mention these amazing sandals from Reek. I rarely purchase fatpacks but these are well worth it! They come with a color change hud and tons of color combination possibilities. Color change sandals are def. on my list of essential things for summer :)

so... yesterday, It snowed here where I live. Can you believe it? Snow in the middle of April? I was severely disappointed :( and it wasn't just a light snow that melted right away. I am looking out my window right now and there is about 5 to 6 inches of snow on the ground. Everything prior to this had pretty much melted. It was spring for like a week and now it's effin winter again. I don't know if I can take this anymore. I will have graduated by the end of this year and I hope to move somewhere warmer.

I don't know if you all have heard but there is a brand new social networking site specifically for Second Life. It's called 2nd Share. When I joined two days ago there were about 15 people on it and it seems to be growing pretty quickly. Anyone can add me if they'd like. I'm still trying to figure out if it's something I can and will use but so far it looks pretty interesting.

I went shopping! I got... the most fabulous necklace from League . I can't believe how detailed and beautiful this necklace is.. I love it! and this sweater from Fishy Strawberry is so pretty, it has a really nice detailed lace pattern on the sleeves and on the back. I love the overall texture. I got a new skin too! It has a cute sweet face, the lips are what sold me on it, they are my favorite color for lips and it was only 300L from Mothergoose. Yay, for new stuff :D

good morning! here is yet another outfit that has been sitting in my "recent" folder.(well not all of it)every time I buy something I put all the new stuff in there and I try to wear it before I file it off. if I file it off first then I will forget where I put it and what a waste of money that is. I really need to go through everything and get rid of the stuff i have no desire to ever wear again. I can feel some spring cleaning in the near future!

these boots are so incredible. they are from flf a while back... and I haven't had a chance to wear them until now. The amount of detail is really amazing and for 50L, it was a steal. It even comes with a hud that gives you all kind of coloring options and you can chose to have socks or no socks. they are definitely fatpack worthy imo.

Hey! It's been a while, I've been busy! I'm working on making new clothing. If I could I think I would seriously abandon all of my other ambitions in life and put everything I have into designing clothes. It's so much fun to picture something and create it in 2D and then be able to wear it 3D.

Right now I think I'm concentrating on making things that I want for myself... and I'm kind of a lounge wear tomboy. I think it's a nice balance to the sexy feminine things you would normally find at BOOM. So in a way, I'm not just making clothes.. I am sharing who I am as a person and I really appreciate such a positive response :) It's been an enjoyable experience.

I always feel like such a creeper when I inspect someones clothing. In this case it was a guy who was wearing these awesome pants from Xray. So, umm... where the heck have I been? I had no idea Magika had all this beautiful hair! I bought so many styles. I like their blonde colors best so you might see a lot more blonde on me in the near future. These hairs come with a mirror version and a hud to change colors. I like the hud because a lot of times I have to mod hair to fit... and this way I don't have to mod every single color. They also have long hairs that with two attachments points! I think more designers should adopt this idea... I dislike long hair that is so straight and stiff and doesn't move with my body. Oh! and my favorite part... you have the option to put strands of hair in your mouth! Sooo cute :)

So I guess the cat is out of the bag! It has been so tough to keep this secret from everyone... and for those of you who don't know yet, I am now designing clothes for BOOM! It still doesn't exactly feel real. lol. but! I am sooo up for the challenge. It's an amazing experience to be able to create things for other people.

Here is a preview of the items that have been released this weekend. you can find them at the *BOOM* mainstore! The shrug and the blouse each come in 20 different colors and let me tell you... choosing colors is not an easy task. There are wayyy to many beautiful colors to choose from, I hope you like them :) I made the shorts in 5 neutral tones. And lets not forget the FREE GIFT! I absolutely LOVE lambs new hair!!

I went to go try on Curio's new skin "Sweetheart" the other day. It is soo pretty that I thought maybe I would adjust my shape to fit it a little better. I've never really done that using anything but Pheonix before... and I didn't press save as! I thought I lost my shape forever! I almost had a heart attack until I realized I saved a copy of it with (no ears) for when I wear my elf ears. Now I think I'll make like 5 copies and put them in a box for safe keeping lol! whew what a scare!

So... I am 29 years old and in all the years I've been living I don't think I have ever disliked anyone more then I dislike my graphic design teacher. She now treats me like I am completely invisible. We were all working on an in class assignment today in the computer studio and she went around and looked at everyone's work but she didn't look at mine. I went up and asked her if she would look at a designer statement that I had written for another class (it's like a paragraph long and wouldn't take but two minutes to read) but she said she wouldn't be able to look at it until next week. What a B word...

so I actually went shopping today! haven't done that in a long time. I hate when I buy things that I never wear... so I've been putting all of my recent items into a folder and I try to wear them before I file them off into my inventory. Sadly the folder has grown quite big... and some things have been in there for a very long time which makes me reluctant to buy new things. Anyways... my shopping trip produced a "louder" look then I'm used to. but I had fun and I feel it!

hey question... I am determined to learn to make sculpts but I can't afford to pay $4,000 for Maya. I have wings3D... but I haven't learned how to use it. I wonder what the best way of going about building basic sculpts. If anyone has any suggestions or can recommend some good tutorials... I am all ears. :)

Oh boy! RL has gotten almost unbearable at times this week. My internship lady is getting a little crazy with the work load... not to mention all the other projects I'm taking on in SL. And! my typography teacher insists on being as rude and awful to me as she possibly can infront of her class. She the primary instructor for the graphic design program and to tell you the truth I cannot stand her for so many reasons! The biggest reason is that she is a hypocrite and of course the way she treats me. Anyways I won't get into details but wow, I can't wait until I never have to see her face again.

So... Valentines Day is just around the corner. My boyfriend and I don't celebrate V-Day because we don't think it's necessary to buy each other things to express our love. We do that just fine on a regular basis. lol. Besides that, I don't like making people feel obligated to do anything... and I would rather die then go to a crowded restaurant because I have a low tolerance for people. :) Not that I'm saying it's wrong to celebrate, I'm just saying I prefer not to. But my avatar is showing a little spirit by wearing pink and red!

guess what, guess what!? erratic rain dropped some really cute turtlenecks on me today! I love the funky color options they come in but I especially love blue and red together, so I decided to do matching eye makeup :) I was going to wait to blog this until tomorrow... but I'm too impatient. oh! and these shoes from Tokid are so effin adorable. I might be switching viewers after all... I just updated Kirsten to S21 and it has adopted the viewer 2 layout! which is what I am used to know, so I'm happy. I haven't explored it fully but I did experiment with the settings. There are so much more options for graphics and photography. It seems to have everything I wanted.

I explored the Mon Tissu sim for the first time. It's really beautiful and perfect for taking pictures and I got to try out the Depth of Field!

I don't know if it's just me but if I take a shot at a weird angle my shadows are jagged like in the picture below. So far I haven't found a solution for that... and the image looks a little blurry around the edges, probably from me trying to smooth out the shadow lines with the settings available. So I still have a lot of work to do to achieve the perfect quality photographs but I thought I would share my little adventure with you.

I really enjoy SL photography... for my blog I usually concentrate on photographing the clothing because that is what a fashion blog is for... I appreciate those who take conceptual photographs for their blog but in some cases I find it a bit distracting. It really all depends on the photographer. However, I do wonder how other people feel about blog photography. Would you like to see me take a more artistic approach? Even though it is more time consuming, I would consider it if I thought the majority would like it more. hmmm...

oh, this photograph I tried the Kirsten viewer. I shouldn't have done that! I think I like Kirsten photos better. I don't want to switch viewers again :( and I don't want to use two different viewers either. grrr.

I decided to go looking for some poses that were different then the ones I normally use for my photo shoots, so I went to Del May. I mostly looked for poses with good angles. I might try to incorporate them into some sort of fashion illustration... but that will come when I have more time. I didn't want to find a piece of furniture to fit this pose so I started stretching some boxes to fit, which eventually ended up in a configuration of boxes.

I Hate Winter...

I haven't been around much on plurk or Second Life lately... I haven't really been inspired to do much. Maybe it's because the weather is getting to me... I've probably said this before but I hate winter. Everything is covered in white and the sky is almost always grey. I love color! and my surroundings have a great effect on my mood. I've also just been spending a lot of time working on stuff for school and my internship this semester. All work and no play... I think I need a vacation.

Anyways... about the outfit. The adorable bow in my hair is included with the sweater. The sweater is from MNK, it's so cute and can be worn in many different lengths. I also bought out the model pose packs there... they are each 20L for a pack of 5. I think I got 8 packs all together, so 40 poses for 160L, what a great deal!

I had know idea what to wear today... luckily when I logged on I saw a notice from Fishy Strawberry promoting this new tank! so I decided to wear it with a polka dot skirt i got for 15L at Cupcakes ... can't pass up a bargain like that, and most of the clothes I saw there were extremely affordable. And on my adventure through the maze of Emery the other day, I found these socks for free! and there are 10 colors in the pack. So it all kind of came together, I love when things work out that way.

I can't wait for winter to be over. The only part left about it that I can tolerate are cute sweaters like this one. Other then that... I wish it were over. These past couple of days have been some of the coldest thus far, reaching lows of -20 degrees F. and that's without windchill.

check out the new skirt from The Secret Store ... it's so beautifully sculpted and comes in 5 amazing textures. It was so hard to chose one to wear but I thought this one looked best with the tank I picked up from Mon Tissu , which also come in a variety of textures and colors. In fact, i think it would be fun to play around with mixing and matching them.

I'm not sure why but I decided I wanted to wear freckles today and I found a tattoo layer that came in one of my Tres Blah skins. I'm lovin' the way it looks with my primary skin!

I also love this beautiful new hair from elikatira ... just as adorable as every other hair they've made. seriously! i love them all and can't wait until they release more :)

wow what a looong day. i used to have a clothing store open in SL up until just recently, called demina design... this post has nothing to do with that but! i have been putting some of the clothes on the marketplace today. what a long process it has been and i've only just begun! i seriously feel like my head is going to explode! some of you might already be familiar with my clothing but for those that are curious i thought i would post a link. i also have a lot of older items there too but they seem to sell pretty consistently so i'm leaving them there for now... might change the ads for them though, they look pretty newbish lol. ok enough of that, i feel like im spamming you or something.

I made a new banner! yay :) It doesn't hurt to change things up every once in a while... and I think I was due for an update!

Mon Tissu released some new things yesterday! In this post I'm wearing their new flats. I might have to go back and fatpack them, I love the adorable little bow on the front. The shirt I'm wearing is the "dress" I bought from the Cool Beans 50% off sale that I mentioned in the previous post. The prim part of it didn't fit my avatar and was no mod so I ended up wearing it as a shirt instead... which is fine because it was only 20L!

Also, there were a lot of good FLF things put out today including this necklace from Miel. I'm starting to really love long nicely sculpted necklaces if you haven't noticed :)

i wonder how long the Fashion House has been around? because this is the first time i've heard of it... everything there is 50L! and i picked up quite a few things including this sweater and hair.

i hear people talk about Kirstens viewer, they say it's the best using shadows and it also has a built in Depth of Field option... i don't like the idea of having to use a different viewer just to take photos. i wish viewer 2 had DOF. anyways, i was playing around with it a little bit yesterday and i had the same issues everyone else seems to have. i had to relog for my avatar to rez and i had to reattach my hair because parts of it seemed to be missing. i might fiddle with it some more just to take some artistic photos but as far as my blog posts... i am going to live with the annoying lines through my images with viewer 2 for now.

one more thing... if you are reading this and are using a face or body light, PLEASE consider trying this windlight tutorial. i used to use a body light and people always said how annoying they were and how they were blinded by them, and i thought they were just exaggerating because it wasn't that bad. but that's because i wasn't using atmospheric shaders. now that i do use them, i totally understand what they meant! my whole face turns white with any local lighting... i wish there was an option to shut it off in viewer 2. but there's not. so i'll just add it to my wish list and try to enforce windlight!

there's a new release from The Secret Store! perfect little scarf belts that come in a variety of different colors.

i love this new shirt i got from a store i stumbled upon one day called izm. only it doesn't have a pant or underwear layer... and because i wanted to wear a jacket over it, it ended up showing my belly. but! this new scarf belt covers that area perfectly, yay!

on a side note. today was my first day of classes for the spring semester. which means, i probably won't be posting as often as i normally do. but! i do plan to continue blogging :)
